An apartment viewing turns into a life-or-death situation when a failed bank robber takes everyone hostage. Under pressure, the eight strangers begin opening up and revealing long-hidden truths.

Among the group is Zara, a wealthy bank director who, after tragedy, has become obsessed with visiting open houses to learn how ordinary people live. Then theres Roger and Anna-Lena, a retired couple with an Ikea addiction who are always on the hunt for fixer-uppers to hide their failing marriage. Young lesbian couple Julia and Ro are soon-to-be parents who struggle to agree on anything. And Estelle, an eighty-year-old woman, is unimpressed by the masked bank robber waving a gun in her face.
