"Empowering Journey: A Review of 'Educated'"

Tara Westover pulled herself away from the mountain and the junkyard childhood, escaping delusional threats from the outside. However, the severing, filled with violent nightmares, harsh winters, and midnight escapes, fragmented her into jagged pieces. The writing process can be seen as a reconstruction of self, a self-justification, a search for proof of meaning in existence. It reminded me of my own upbringing, when I took a train and later an airplane to distance myself as far as possible from where I came from. Uprooting oneself and trying to establish oneself elsewhere, both geographically and mentally, is a daunting endeavor. I am still caught in between.
